THOUGHTS FROM DOUG

If you “listen” to the internet all day long, you can believe anything. If you listen to the news all day long, you can also believe anything.

As more positive economic news keeps coming, the current $1.9T stimulus bill is starting to look like a buying votes exercise.

What happens if technology is progressing geometrically while society as a whole is only progressing arithmetically?

Your powers of observation surely decline with the amount of time you spend in front of an electronic device.

Auto and health care companies want the Biden administration to provide economic incentives to build more chip plants in the US. That sounds like good economic policy, while the $1.9T “stimulus” looks more like…

If you listen to investment pundits these days, there’s lots of fear of inflation. All that money raining down on global economies has to drive up prices. But when wages can’t move because of technology and globalization, how can workers spend more? They also are chock full of debt.

Why is life like a bowling ball? Cause you gutter out sometimes.

Several people I've talked to suggested they learned a lot from last week’s weather experience, especially about plumbing and winterizing the house. It was a good learning experience, an experience that increases one's sense of personal responsibility.

Government thinks it is supposed to protect us from everything and save us from everything but doing so reduces our ability to protect ourselves.
